In Wings of Glory - Tripods & Triplanes, the knights of the air of WW1 battle against colossal ghting machines sent by the Martians to invade Earth. The MK. II "Scarab" tripod is the most fearful embodiment of Martian technology, at the time of the rst wave of the Invasion. This behemoth is slower and more clumsy than other tripods, but it is armed with a powerful heat-ray and multiple black smoke launchers. The Scarab’s thick armored shell, together with its energy shields, makes it nearly-undestructible by the primitive Earthlings’ weapons.
