Ikeshti Brood-Minders live a solitary life, as to become one, the male must best their mate in a fight to the death after they have laid and fertilized a large clutch of eggs. After their hormonal levels stabilize, they gain a strong urge to care for their young and seek to add more young Ikeshti to their brood, offering no preferential treatment to their own and even killing off the weakest ones to open up more space for candidates with more promise. The young seek organic matter and whether it be through nomadic grazing or living as garbage disposals for large settlements, the Brood-minders guide them to food.
