The Ghouls of the wasteland are twisted by radiation and fallout. Many are able to live normal lives, even conversing with others and taking part in settlement life with little ill effect other than their off-putting appearance. The radiation from nuclear weapons has affected them to the point of flensing their skin but gives them unnaturally long life.
In others it has worse effects. The degradation of their bodies reaches to their minds as well, turning them feral and reducing their actions to little more than a shambling corpse, nothing of their humanity remaining. They tend to congregate in packs, often hunkering in bombed out buildings or subway stations where they were first changed. Woe betide anyone who enters such places unprepared – their wandering in the wasteland will usually come to an abrupt and screaming end under the dirt encrusted talons and chipped, jagged teeth of a pack of feral ghouls.
The worst infected manifest putrid radioactive pustules that drip glowing ooze. One swipe can cause serious radiation poisoning and doom victims to a mutated and rad filled future if not rapidly treated. Ghouls of this type are usually found around areas of high radiation – leaking barrels, areas directly where the bombs fell and stockpiles of degrading fuel rods.
These places also attract the less agile but more hardy bloated glowing ones – ghouls swelled with sickening radioactive substances. They are so corpulent that their disintegrating flesh is stretched to breaking point over their rad infused tissues. Their relentless advance means the end for most victims. They pour round after round into the target to no avail. The last sounds they hear are the click of an empty pistol and the moan of the still advancing ghoul.
The Fallout: Wasteland Warfare - Creatures: Putrid & Glowing Ones set contains 32mm scale high-quality multi-part resin miniatures with scenic bases. Requires some assembly. Supplied unpainted. Any scenery shown for illustrative purposes only.
